MEET DAVE: Pathfinders’ Equipment Advice & Outreach Officer

You might be seeing a new face popping up on Pathfinders’ social media over the next few months, so we thought we’d better introduce him!

Dave Loveridge has joined Pathfinders for an 18‑month project to strengthen and expand our Equipment Advice Service for people living with muscle‑weakening conditions.

His work is rooted in one core principle: listening to the people who know this world best.

Over the coming months, Dave will be travelling across the UK, and meeting plenty of people online, to speak with individuals, families, OTs, nurses, clinicians, charities, equipment specialists and organisations involved in neuromuscular care.

Why all the conversations?

Because we don’t want to make assumptions about what people need. We want to understand:

  • What’s working
  • What’s difficult
  • Where people get stuck
  • Where the really useful equipment knowledge lives
  • And what Pathfinders could do that would genuinely make things easier

We’re especially interested in the practical wisdom people gain through experience; the brilliant bit of kit someone recommended, the adaptation you wish you’d found years earlier, the funding route nobody mentioned, or the everyday workaround learned through trial and error.

📍 WHERE’S DAVE?

Listening, learning and connecting across the neuromuscular community.

We’ll be sharing Dave’s journey through a new series: where he’s been, who he’s met, what he’s learning, and the wider themes emerging from these conversations.

And we’d love you to be part of it.

How you can get involved

  • Help shape the service: Complete our short questionnaire and share your experiences of equipment, adaptations, information and support. Complete the Equipment Advice questionnaire
  • Join the conversation: Look out for our PATHFINDERS ASKS… posts and share your tips, experiences and discoveries.
  • Are you a professional or organisation? If you’d like to speak with Dave, we’d love to hear from you. Contact Pathfinders

You don’t need to wait

While we listen, learn and build the next phase of the service, Pathfinders’ current Equipment Advice support remains available.
