Transition to Independence – Peer Support and Information Day.
Pathfinders Neuromuscular Alliance is delighted to be working in partnership with Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK (SMA UK) to bring our community together for a free special event in Northern Ireland on Friday 23rd October 2025.

A Day Focused on Independence
This relaxed and welcoming day is all about your journey to independence. We know that becoming an adult or facing changes in your condition can feel overwhelming, with big questions about care, education, employment, leisure, and living life on your own terms.
Our goal is to give you practical tools, fresh ideas, and the chance to connect with others who truly understand your experiences.
Throughout the day, you’ll hear from inspiring speakers and meet exhibitors who will share advice on topics such as:
- Social and leisure activities in Northern Ireland
- Managing your care using Direct Payments/SDS
- Employing and managing Personal Assistants
- Using adaptive technology and home adaptations
- Exploring higher education and accessible learning
- Driving and transport options
There will be plenty of time to network, ask questions, and chat. A light lunch will be provided, and a Changing Places toilet will be available. Please let us know of any dietary or accessibility requirements when registering.
